Hello,

I’m in my last semester of Software Engineering and will be done in next 3 months Inshahallah. I want to start my CSS preparation for Exams in 2009 as soon as I get done with it. My area of interest is “Foreign Services of Pakistan”. I would like to know which subject should I choose and which one book from that particular course should be my priority?

Regards
Wafa Khan

Dear Wafa Khan,

I am glad that you are planning to appear in CSS 2009 and you are interested in Foreign Services of Pakistan. About choosing optional subjects, it is all about interest and background in those particular subjects. What I will suggest you is that you should have a look at the optional subjects list, jot down the subjects you have some interest in, look at the past papers of those subjects and then decide about it them. All you need to do is choosing subject in a way that you should have 600 marks out of them, apart from this you must be careful about the subjects grouped together. From every group you can take subjects making 200 marks maximum. Now about books, once [read more]

Here, I would like to request one more thing that all those who are interested in submitting their queries should try to keep in mind the correct spelling and grammar. I have noticed that people writing around online are least concerned about language and to me it leaves a very bad impact on their overall written skills so it is in your benefit to consider my request. I will not waste any more of your time so let get to business:

Dear MavRick,

I am fine. It is good to know that you have started preparing for CSS 2009 at your own and I hope you will make it.

My general advice to all the aspirants stays that when it comes to CSS, one need to adopt one book policy in all their subjects. Here I would like to make it clear that when I am saying one book policy, it means that one ought to follow no more than one book per subject. It decreases the confusion and provides you the time and space to concentrate on the subject. This is how I prepared for it and was able to pass the examination. [read more]

CSS Examination Preparation Services

In Pakistan, clearing the entry examination for Central Superior Service (CSS) is like a dream. It is reported that every year thousands of candidates use to fill the examination forms but success rate is as low as 5%; to me, the main reason behind this low rate of success is lack of guidance available with the CSS aspirants.

When I started my preparation for the exam, I tried to meet as many CSS qualifiers as I can and they use to point it out to me that secret of their success was proper guidance and with this guidance they happened to utilize their abilities to fullest and sailed smoothly. Having realized the importance of advice from qualifiers, I followed it and I was able to get through it too.
